Professor Thomas Rösch
Prof. Rösch is the Director of the Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy at UKE Hamburg.
He has undertaken research with experimental studies on the topic of secretion of pancreatic enzymes, followed by scientific activity with endoscopy and endosonography in gastrointestinal diagnostics. He has publications on this topic in journals such as “The New England Journal of Medicine”, “Gastroenterology”, “Gut”, “ American Jorunal of Gastroenterology”, “Endoscopy”, “Gastrointestinal Endoscopy”, “Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology”, Annals of Surgery etc (340 publications), total impact factor 1500.
Prof. Rösch was the Chairman 2002 and General Secretary 2002-2006 of the Endoscopic Section of the DGVS (German Society of Gastroenterology), and is currently in the Board of the Section. He organises the annual meeting of the German Society in Bonn under the direction of the President Prof. T. Sauerbruch. Since 2008 he has been a member of the organisation board of Endoclub Nord (president 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2221), the worldwide largest endoscopic live demonstration meeting. In 2013-2014 he was the president of the DGEBV and its national meeting in April 2014.
Prof Rösch is the Assistant Editor of the journal Endoscopy 1991-2003 (Editor-in-Chief: Professor Classen), from 2004-2013 Editor-in-Chief, during these periods rise of impact factor from 1.4 to 6.1. From 2013 onwards he has been the Deputy Editor Endoscopy for the journal Gut, current impact factor 17.6. Editor of the Teaching Platform Endoscopy Campus of the German Societies DGEBV (German Society of Endoscopy and Imaging) and DGVS
Prof Rösch is a member of the Boards of the DGVS/Endoscopic Section and of the DGEBV.
